Game of Thrones: Daenerys Targaryen ‘Khaleesi’

gameofthronespostlabelsandlondon

This month’s fiction vs fashion feature is Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. She’s one of my favourite characters in the series and her costume has evolved as much as her character; from a frail helpless pawn to a strong conquering heroine.

I’ve selectively put together a selection of pieces from this season for those of you who’d love the opportunity to raid Khaleesi’s wardrobe which is sadly locked away at HBO’s headquarters; and the beauty of it is that they are all obtainable and available to purchase now. Who says you need to live in the medieval/fantasy era to wear grecian gowns, delicate fabrics and dress like a Khaleesi?

My favourite find is the Loewe woven dress: Dothraki with a modern day twist. If you need an occasion to wear it but don’t have any plans to conquer a wealthy city or attend a ceremony to eat the heart of a horse anytime soon, it’s a romantic piece to pack for vacation. The perfect ensemble for walking along the beach.

Anastasia’s brow gel is a must-have for sculpting fuller eyebrows like Daenerys. Her natural look enhances her femininity so keep it natural but add a soft pink lip for a touch of colour.

If you like the post and would like to see me cover somebody else get in touch and send in your requests. I’ll list the items featured in this post below with links on where you can find them.

P.S Who’s your favourite G.O.T character?

I think the idea of using a fictional character to tell a fashion story is quite creative and an extension of playing dress up, fashion should be fun!

Arya is my favorite character! I can’t wait for the show to come back on soon! The Miu Miu gladiator sandals are so fitting.
