It may be too early to get my legs out in January but it’s Gucci. And it’s knitwear. So let them have their moment.
Alessandro Michele has been slaying at Gucci since he joined the company as Creative Director. Before 2015 Gucci was my least favourite brand, this was during a time less was more and trophy pieces were understated leaving little room for Gucci and their unmissable double G marmont stamp. But lately, we’ve seen Gucci’s fun side with patch denim, embellishment and playful hues of lime and fuschia during the era of outlandish ruffles, varsity bombers and furry loafers. This has transformed the brand allowing a new generation to appreciate Gucci’s creative and less serious side.
