We’re all guilty of making new year’s resolutions and not keeping them, right?
I make my resolutions every year, but when it comes down to doing committing to the cause, I never actually make an attempt until 6 months later, I just don’t ever feel like doing it until then.
There’s something about summer that motivates you to be healthy and achieve your goals, perhaps the reasons are a multiple, collective mix of everything. There’s an energy in the air during the summer, marathons taking place within the city, longer days, an impeccable skin miracle also known as a tan, happy people outside with a spring in their step and is it just me or does the salad even appear far more enticing and wondrously vivid under the sun?
We should also hold our hands up and face facts: Rocket leaves don’t keep you warm during the winter months, carbs do.
So I made a conscious choice to start 2 months ago, I had 2 new year’s resolutions.
- Eat more avocado
- Make the conscious decision to choose the healthy alternative where possible.
So when I’m going down to the shops to buy sweets and I also see fruit on the shelf, I put the Haribo down and walk the apple to the till.
I’m introducing avocado to my diet because I have very dry skin and every time I go to a beauty counter they always say:
“You should eat more avocado”
I don’t love it enough to eat on it’s own so I have to think of creative ways to incorporate it into my meals which isn’t as easy to do as it sounds. Right now I’m adding it to smoothies, sandwich fillers and salads but if you have any other ideas/recipes please let me know in the comment box below.
I’m wearing a Celine wool vest from their AW15 collection, Marc by Marc Jacobs pants, Chloe boots and a Balenciaga wallet which I use as a clutch when I prefer to carry light.
On this day, I tried a matcha latte for the first time in keeping with my promise to make healthy choices. My skin is improving, I feel good and I’m enjoying it so far.
