The Travel Blogger Dress

Hi guys, so today I’m going to share with you a little inspo for vacation shopping so that you can pull of some great looks abroad.

I love following travel bloggers and scrolling through endless feeds of blue hues and skyline views.

If you’re on Instagram, Revolve are doing one of the best campaigns around at the moment titled #RevolveAroundTheWorld, showcasing influencers and consumers with amazing style at bucket list destinations such as Machu Picchu.

#FollowMeTo is one of my favourite hashtags, if you like travel photography make sure you check it out too!

It’s also the inspiration behind this outfit, #FollowMeTo is a hashtag showcasing holiday snaps of people walking towards gorgeous backdrops holding the hand of the photographer.

Most of the time when we’re abroad we are make up free right? Or we’re walking around with a melting face full of foundation. And so, not always picture ready when the right moment comes.

Which led me to thinking about the idea of focusing on outfit details from the back rather than the front, something I never considered when shopping for holiday clothes.

I managed to find this romantic dress and I love it, you can actually get 20% off for TODAY only by clicking HERE and using the code ’20OFF’.

If you don’t have a holiday booked any time soon, bank it for the next one. Trust me, this one won’t go out of style unlike the majority fast fashion vacation pieces. And it actually has the potential to make a really good wedding guest outfit.

Michelle Keegan’s SS16 range for Lipsy London is finally here!

Last Thursday celebrated the launch of British actress Michelle Keegan’s Lipsy range.

Seen frequently in fashion magazines; her departure from Coronation Street not only meant the end of well-loved character Tina McIntyre but also marked the beginning of a budding career in the fashion industry.

I was lucky enough to attend the event and made my way past the crowd of photographers waiting for Michelle to arrive and stepped inside the beautiful Rosewood Hotel.

The set up was absolutely stunning in a large hall lit up with candles with a centre piece dripping in flowers and bite-size desserts.

Drinks were offered upon arrival and I was free to roam the hall viewing samples of Michelle’s designs.

Lipsy’s aesthetic is sexy, young and accentuates the curves, true to their word, it is no surprise they chose to collaborate with the Michelle who is no stranger to the red carpet.

They were my go-to brand during my freshman years at university, for every invited party and also throughout my serial dating days for that perfect ‘night out’ dress, the type that we never seem to stock in our wardrobes on the night we need it most.

So being familiar with the brand, I was expecting to see an array of dresses. I was pleasantly surprised however, to learn that Michelle has created a range of faux fur coats, intentionally designed to look glam enough to pair with your favourite dress under the cold British whether.

Lipsy’s new fragrance ‘Caged Dream’ made lovely looking ornaments around the table, a sweet little novelty item for the bedroom whether the bottle is half full or entirely empty.

While I was admiring the floral, sweet smell of ‘Caged Dream’ I got chatting to Steve Mallett from Curtis PLC, the man behind the packaging and design of Lipsy’s new fragrance. Here is a snap of us both at the event.

For the event I wore a lace Lipsy top from Michelle Keegan’s AW15 range paired with Marc by Marc Jacobs leather pants. I was able to catch Michelle for a quick chat who told me that she almost wore the same thing!

Michelle was lovely and seemed excited to celebrate the launch and hear everyone’s thoughts of her new collection.

Here are my three favourite looks from Michelle’s range. Click on your favourite to browse Lipsy’s website or drop us a comment below to let us know your thoughts of the collection.

House of Fraser kindly invited me to their head office on Thursday to preview their AW15 collections. For those of you who don’t live in the UK, House of Fraser are like the Bloomingdales of UK (or David Jones if you’re from Australia). They are a department store that stock the likes of Acne, 7 for all mankind, J Brand, Polo Ralph Lauren and Joseph.

Above all, they also house brands that are exclusive to them, ‘Therapy’ is quite often on point with current trends and brand for fast fashion that isn’t also owned and worn by everybody else you know (see above image) but my go to HOF brand is ‘Label Lab’. If “All Saints Spitalfields” is your style and you’re looking to update your entire wardrobe with half their store on a tight budget, try the Label Lab corner in House of Fraser as an alternative. Their line is super edgy and some of my most worn garments come from this house brand.

Shall I trade my Givenchy Antigona for this leopard baby this Autumn?

If you think next season will be full of dull, muted grey and blacks to match the gloomy British weather then think again.

This Autumn/Winter we’ll be seeing plenty of pop colour and textured knits.

I’d style these ‘Therapy’ pants with either a white off-shoulder ruffle top to achieve this season’s boho “Chloe girl” look or a white long sleeved body suit for a chic city look.

The main focal point and possibly most photographed item on the day was this studded DKNY backpack. I prefer it to the ever popular MCM backpack as it’s slightly more understated and easier to coordinate with an outfit. I’d sling this backpack over a pencil skirt and heels, balancing femininity with an added stroke of edge is a great technique for a head turning outfit.

Last but not least I have something extra special to share with you. The 70’s trend seen on Gucci and Burberry’s runway last year is still going strong and continuing through to the Autumn/Winter.

Next season’s Biba collection is very bohemian and has been inspired by a previous collection, originally released in the 70’s.

I was lucky enough to see their original collection in a glass box.

My favourite pick from the House of Fraser press day was this faux fur vest by Biba, expect to see a lot of faux fur next season. Easy to throw over anything: style it with a simple knit polo for added warmth this Autumn.

The House of Fraser Brand Event launched today with 40% off across all brands. I never seem to be quick enough with these things to get the best items so I already have a few things in my shopping basket.

[Bagsie! Dibs! and Shot gun!] This is what I’ve reserved in my basket so far…what do you think?
